Sometimes I use a brush instead of a needle ....
on a box canvas:

This one is life-size - we call him 'Livingstone' our trompe l'oeil cat
Look at you revealing another bit about yourself. You paint is amazing as your beads. I always wished I could paint and took lessons a couple of times. Not my calling. I think you are a natural.
